How Is It Decided?

Usually through an assessment process:

Checklist

A short screening tool.

This asks:

“Is this worth a full assessment?”

It’s meant to be a low threshold.

Why the National Framework wants it low

Because CHC eligibility is complicated.

A person may not look obviously eligible on a quick glance, but when you properly examine:

  • Behaviour

  • Cognition

  • Medication

  • Mobility

  • Risk

  • Interaction of needs

…the full picture can look very different.

So the Framework deliberately says:

Don’t make the Checklist the battleground.
